The Proverbs began in 1967 when (while still elementary school children) Dave Daw, his brother Frank and their first cousin Ken Harnden began singing together. Study of the recensional history of this long-lived Mesopotamian wisdom collection may well have specific application for understanding how the biblical book of Proverbs was composed. And while it is hard to argue with such wisdom, why is it that we have to get old to be considered wise? Maybe we don't? Sharing these great truths and words of wisdom with our children and grandchildren may be just what the doctor ordered!

No matter what culture, proverbial sayings are often the way elders pass on knowledge to the younger generations. Many of us grew up with parents or grandparents who used these sayings - sometimes two to a sentence! But it seems that using such sayings in our modern world has become - a lost art.
It is our hope, that the proverb will once again take its rightful place in dialogue. It will again grace the local coffee houses, be whispered as sweet nothings in lover's ears, and be heard as praises shouted from the rooftops. (Yes we have some lofty hopes!)
